Hello Marie,

Your comments about your Mother's fried chicken brought back fond memories of when I was working in Atlanta back in the '70s and early '80s. Every Thursday my mouth started watering thinking about the three chicken legs, macaroni and cheese, green beans and biscuits I would pick up on my way home.

A few years ago I bought a Mary Mac's cookbook, but no way would any fried chicken or other food I cook taste anywhere near as good as your Mama's or my grandmother's cook, Punkin. I am sure your Easter fried chicken was Divinely Delicious.

The last time I ate at Mary Mac’s was with my Mother from Perry in the late ‘80’s. Know much has changed over the years since I moved away now living in North Carolina. Your Mother and her staff made many people very happy...just as you and Steve are fulfilling in your life purpose.

Back in 1997 and 1999, I had my two pre-Ph.D. meetings at Serenbe, back when The Farmhouse kitchen was in your home. Eating with you and Steve brought up wonderful memories of Mary Mac's and The Pleasant Peasant. What you and Steve have created at Serenbe is remarkable and makes the world a prettier and happier place. Your girls have certainly grown up to be beautiful women. Know you miss your Mother's physical presence, but am glad you know how to communicate with her Spirit.

If I ever get back to Georgia, would love to come to Serenbe and see all the new restaurants and homes. Of course, I’d want three chicken legs and three vegetables...nothing fancy. Am so happy I clicked on your blog tonight. Brought back wonderful memories. Wish you could send me a goodie box up here to NC.

Fondly,
Dr. Judith Wilson
singingbird@pinehurst.net
